As a Black disabled woman what I feared has come true. The passing of the big ugly bill will be studied by future generations. But there are still things you can do. Vote Republicans out! About 20-30-ish of their seats are up for election during the 2026 midterms. You can still contact them now and ask what this bill means for their constituents! Hold them ACCOUNTABLE for their actions!
Take the time to check in on your elderly, chronically ill and disabled folks. Check in on your folks who get SNAP or subsidized healthcare coverage. Check in your folks who have been working to save our planet. And check in on those who worked tirelessly this week to keep you informed of this horrible bill (thank you if you're reading this, now rest). Take care of yourself. We did what we could and now we have more work to do.
