I Wrote A Book That Trump Doesn't Want You To Read

You Know, Like Project 2025

February 6, 2024, a year ago today, my book came out. It was here for you then and it's here for you now. I AM NOT SURPRISED BY ANYTHING DONALD HAS DONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO. You know why? Because White Supremacy Is All Around (the title of my book). This is the book Trump doesn't want you to read. You know, like Project 2025. See, if you read either you wouldn't be surprised with what's happening in America right now.

I am a Black disabled woman in a white world.

Donald does not want me here. He doesn’t want me here as a woman. A disabled person. And especially as a “free” Black person. It is important to note that as he just signed the executive order banning transgender women and girls athletes from women’s sports. We already know trans folks cannot have their correct gender on federal documents like passports. So, it is not unrealistic for me to become three-fifths of a person as once outlined in America’s constitution. I mean, with Brown and Black immigrants being sent to Guantanamo Bay, who do you think Donald wants to pick the cotton, I mean harvest the produce?

Look, it is far beyond time for folks to move past allyship and become accomplices. It is time for collective action. But to get there we all need tools to do the work. My book is that tool for you.

Writing this book was probably one of the more vulnerable things I've done. But I wrote it because this, where we are today in America, was coming. And like the incredible Virgo I am, I was trying to help this whole country prepare. Who knows, maybe all of this had to happen so some more people could feel less alone with my book.

When my book came out last year the buzz was abysmal. It was completely different from when I signed with Hachette in 2022, the sweet years of performative allyship after the murder of George Floyd, when people wanted to do the work. Just as I shared in the chapter, The Summer of Allyship, in my book, folks in 2021 were looking for the election to solve the unrest and injustices. It happened all over again in 2024. When Biden and Harris were elected, white supremacy (January 6th) happened. When Donald and James David were elected, white supremacy happened (Project 2025, executive orders, The Rivera of the Middle East) happened.

History is cyclical.

So today, this Black History Month, buy my book for a tool. Buy it again. Buy it for the first time. Gift it. WRITE A REVIEW! Copy and paste that ish everywhere. Prove to my publisher that people DO want to hear my words. That Black women, and disabled voices matter in publishing. Make my book so successful that I feel less alone as I have this past year of promoting my book.

My book should be viral to show Donald that we are coming.
