A Ceasfire Is Only a Ceasefire When There Is Accountability

And Lives Will Continually Be Lost Until Then

Ceasefire.

Celebrate sure. But the next few days are crucial to making sure dates, process, return of hostages, support, aid etc. actually happen. Today hold space for those harmed by the Israel/Hamas conflict. Those forever changed. The lives lost. The family lines that are gone forever. Those adjusting to being disabled. The years of trauma and vicarious trauma within a culture and history.

Remember, a ceasefire only works when accountability happens. And there is still a lot of accountability needed for the genocide and liberation of Palestinians. I am hopeful that maybe something good is happening in this devestating first two weeks of 2025 but there is so much that remains to be seen.
